Bacolod Trip

I have been really wanting to share about this as soon as we got back but I didn't have time to write about it.
As my first entry for my blog, let me share my trip to Bacolod last February.

One of my dear friend is going to get married in Iloilo and we decided to go on a side trip to Bacolod. Bacolod is just an hour away from Iloilo by riding a ferry boat.

Our first stop is The Ruins

You would probably see this as 2 letter E but it is actually an inverted M. It represents the initial of  Don Mariano and Maria Braga
Based on what we have learned during the tour the mansion is built by Don Mariano Lacson for his wife Maria Braga.
You would probably wonder how this mansion ended to be a ruin. The mansion has been the residence of Don Mariano and his children. On the eve of the World War II  it was burned down by the guerrilla soldiers so that it will not be used as headquarters by the Japanese forces.

This is Mars; he is our tour guide.
He was extra bubbly that day and made us laugh our heart out.
He did a very good job in taking our pictures.

After we explored the Ruins we decided to have a hearty lunch.

Bacolod is knows as a food haven. When visiting this city it is a must to eat Chicken Inasal. We went to Manukan Country to have a taste of the authentic inasal.

As they say always a reserve a space for dessert. After a hearty lunch; we went to Calea.

Calea is famous bakeshop in Bacolod. They are known for their delicious and quality cakes and pastries. As a coffee lover I also look forward to visiting this type of restaurant. Aside from the good food the place was also beautiful.

I would definitely go back to this place.

Enjoy reading.

Feel free to share your experiences when you visit Bacolod. :)
